What's In Your Bottle of Seek North Kombucha?

Seek Harmony, Seek Immunity, Seek Clarity- You’re favorite flavors explained.

By Patric Watzman

If you’ve spent any time on our page here, you’re very aware that we’re trying to make the world a little more healthy, and a little more delicious, for you and yours this season – and all year round. These bottles are (sometimes, literally) bubbling over with probiotics, antioxidants, amino acids, and B vitamins, but all of this might even be secondary to the fact that they’re just simply, really good.

One of the ways we pull this off is by using the best versions of the best ingredients. Our insistence on details, harmony, and living energy inside every bottle is what helps us walk both the lines of flavor, and wellbeing, but did you ever wonder why these ingredients are in there? Or why things like lemon, ginger, and elderflower have been found in drinks and dishes for thousands of years? The answer is evolutionary. These things kept a generation nourished and well, so that generation was able and healthy enough to pass down these things to the next generation, and so on.

If these ingredients had been keeping so many people alive and well for so long, we knew they had to be on to something. So, let’s take a closer look at exactly what you’ll find in our bottles, and why they’re all there.

SEEK HARMONY: Hibiscus Ginger

This simultaneously dry, tropically tangy, and softly spicy concoction has been a long time fan favorite, and a frequent converter of non-‘booch fans into one of us. But why these two things?

Hibiscus: This gorgeous flowering plant of the mallow family has made appearances in food and drink across all types of cultures, from all over the world. It’s famous for a very high Vitamin C content, and in Ayurvedic medicine, is made into everything from a curative herbal tea, to hair oils. It has found its way into traditional drink recipes in Cambodia, Egypt, and Mexico, and is even worn by Hawaiian women behind their left or right ear to tell their relationship status.

Ginger: If there ever was a super herb, this would be in the top slot. There are multitudes of not only traditional uses, but health benefits that have been researched. It has powerful antioxidant properties, and is helpful for nearly all forms of nausea. We love it for it’s zingy spice but it also helps our body achieve a perfect internal balance.

SEEK IMMUNITY: Pineapple Elderflower

Similar in taste to a pale ale from the hops-like elderflower flavor, this tonic is combined with our favorite fruit, pineapple to give it just the slightest amount of sweetness and tropical twist.

Pineapple:  It would be enough that this famous fruit just tastes as incredibly delicious as it does, but pineapple also packs a nutritional punch just as robust as its flavor. It’s extremely high in Vitamin C, manganese, and a great dietary fiber called bromelain. Housed within its spiked skin are also large amounts of an essential B vitamin, thiamine.

Elderflower: The floral counterpart of the plant that creates elderberry, both the berry and the flower have been used for ages in medicinal tonics and flavoring. Elderberry and elderflower have history of use in the fight against the inflammatory sinus effects that go hand in hand with the flu, as well as a frequently used immune booster to fight these colds and flus in general.

SEEK CLARITY: Blueberry Pomegranate Lemon

The juiciest, fruitiest of the bunch, you can automatically tell by its dense, deep purple that this is going to intoxicate your tastebuds with succulent, earthy blueberries, sweet and luscious pomegranate, and just the slightest hint of lemon for the perfect tart and tangy finish.

Blueberry: Nature's preferred brain-boosting nootropic is also an undisputed king of antioxidant foods. The large amounts of antioxidants inside have been shown to be extremely bioavailable, directly increasing the antioxidant levels in your body soon after eating them. Blueberries are also packed with fiber, Vitamin C, Vitamin K, and manganese, and have been studied to affect things as far-ranging as cholesterol and diabetes, all the way to memory function.

Pomegranate: Coming in a close 2nd as an antioxidant powerhouse is the juice of this beloved fruit. Pomegranate juice actually has three times the antioxidant content than either red wine or green tea. Within the juice content of one pomegranate is 40% of your recommended Vitamin C for the day. In addition to the probiotic packed kombucha you’re drinking, this juice may also have benefits in reducing gut inflammation and digestion.

Lemon: Another common find in your refrigerator, lemons have been one of the most-widely used fruits in food for a very long time. They contain large amounts of Vitamin C and citric acid. The combination of Vitamin C and citric acid actually helps you more effectively absorb iron from other foods. Lemon has been used for centuries in remedies for digestion, colds and sore throats, singers’ warm ups, and even cleaning. This may be one of the most versatile, commonly used fruits on the planet.

Everything we do, we do for a reason. And we do it with not only you, but all of us on this planet in mind.
