Have ‘Booch, Will Travel: Hip Hotels That Stock Seek North Kombucha

Local luxury hotels and Inns are stocking up on booch and other functional beverages for you. All about who they are and what they know...

You’ve just gotten off a god-knows-how-many hour flight into whatever different time zone you’re in, and you’re wheeling your bag through unfamiliar streets, literally fantasizing about things like a meal, a drink, a couch, a bed.

When you’re finally able to sit your suitcase down in your very own room for the duration of your stay, you breathe a huge, comforting sigh of relief. And then you see it. The fridge.

All its frigid glory, humming with a promise that right behind Door #1 is food, and drink, much needed nourishment for your travel-stressed body. Grabbing the handle, and opening it up, you find... a few cans of soda, string cheese, small bottles of a couple standby condiments, chips for some reason, and a few single-serve liquor bottles. You close the door, as disappointed as seeing a desert mirage.

Any hotel, Air BnB, or local Inn worth its weight knows the above story all too well, from both their own guests, and personal experience, and they’re wising up. Gone are the days of string cheese and lunchmeat in your temporary fridge, with a couple of single-serve Gran Marnier shot bottles to make it look fancy. People want better, and they want to sit their suitcase down and feel nourished, recharged before they run off to their next destination. And we say, great. It’s been a long time coming.

Packed with probiotics, electrolytes, polyphenols, B vitamins, fizzy and refreshing as all get-out, we might be biased, but couldn’t seem to think of a better easy-to-store recharge-and-nourish drink than kombucha. But even if we’re biased, we partnered up with some wonderful places too, that thought the exact same way.

The Herwood Inn is a beautiful boutique Inn, located in Woodstock, NY and they’ve somehow managed to find the perfect melody between the chords of natural and rustic, but sleek and modern. And guess what? They got a step ahead and partnered with a few select local brands making stuff that made their guests actually feel recharged. We’re super happy to be able to say that we’re one one them, along with some of our friends Immune Schein – a great local company that makes some killer ginger elixirs.

The epically beautiful Hotel Kinsley in Kingston, NY is housed in a former bank dating from the 1860s. Colorful guest rooms feature sophisticated and classic midcentury design. Minibar and fridges are stocked with local favorites including our award-nominated booch and you’ll find us staying there right with you.

Also stocking our booch, Graham & Co. is a 20 room retro-chic hotel in Phoenicia, a small hamlet in the Catskill region of New York State. Inspired by the heritage of the Catskills- Graham & Co. is located at the foot of Hunter Mountain and is a perfect place to stay through all four seasons.

Help your hangover the next morning, while watching the sun shimmer over one of the most ridiculous views we’ve ever seen, where we’re stocked at Gurney’s Star Island Resort in Montauk.

Each of these killer places were wise enough to not only give their guests the best, most rejuvenating stuff, they partnered with local brands to do it too, which gives some love back to where they’re housed.

We wanted to be sure to say thanks to these great places for doing us, and everyone who stays at them. When you get off that plane, train, bus, or marathon car ride, and say “God. I need a drink.” Maybe make that first drink something that’ll shower your well-traveled and tired body with all the stuff it could possibly need to keep going, and see all the sights?
