New York-based premium kombucha company Seek North has already made a name for itself in the kombucha market. Seek North’s beverages are alcohol-extracted, certified organic and certified kosher, and always 100% raw, all-natural, and undiluted.

And today, co-founders and partners Philippe Trinh and Julian Lesser are releasing a new flavor, making a total of four in their lineup. Joining Seek Harmony (hibiscus and ginger), Seek Immunity (elderflower and pineapple), and Seek Clarity (blueberry, pomegranate, and lemon), Seek Vitality will be the company’s first adaptogenic offering, featuring holy basil and blue spirulina.

Seek North notes that this herb and superfood pairing comes with a wide array of potential health benefits. Holy basil is an adaptogen, a type of plant that is used medicinally to stabilize the body, facilitate natural physiological functioning, and help the body resist and overcome stress. The effect most commonly associated with holy basil is a big boost in energy and a feeling of overall renewed vitality. “This is a huge boon for anybody looking for a more functional kombucha to make them feel more refreshed and alive,” explains Trinh.

Blue spirulina gives Seek Vitality its signature blue-teal color and unique hue. It diversifies Seek North’s already-colorful lineup, which consists of yellow, red, and purple beverages in addition to the new Seek Vitality.

But blue spirulina’s inclusion in the beverage isn’t just for aesthetic purposes. “Blue spirulina is beneficial for cholesterol levels and blood pressure. It is chock-full of nutrients and boasts antioxidant properties as well,” says Lesser. “Much like holy basil, blue spirulina is also known for giving invigorating energy boosts and supporting increased endurance. The combination of holy basil and blue spirulina makes this ‘booch particularly effective when it comes to vitality.”

To round out the flavor and add some tropical sweetness, Seek North also included fresh pressed ginger and organic white grape juice in Seek Vitality. Seek Vitality will be available in select stores beginning in March.
